Pagos del Rey markets two main brands from which the various types of wine emanate: young wines, robles, crianzas, reservas and gran reservas. With its “Altos de Tamarón”, the exclusive brand of the off trade channel, this winery plays tribute to the history of the Burgos area in which it is located, given that its anagram is a reproduction of the petroglyph which is in the vicinity on a nearby hill. This remnant of history dates back to the Visigoth period and is carved into a large rock near the baroque Chapel of Virgen de la Basardilla, indicating that the winegrowing past of the region dates back some 2,000 years, although the first cellars were not dug in villages until the 12th century.
The wines of Pagos del Rey, which are completed with the exclusive on trade range called Condado de Oriza, are deep violet in colour with clean, fruity aromas. Their long and powerful mouthfeel is due to the grapes used from age-old vineyards located at high altitudes and to the extreme climatic conditions.
